Orpen Franks Solicitors LLP Family Law

Orpen Franks Solicitors LLP family law department was established in 2019 and now serves clients all over Ireland. In addition, we are also experiencing a huge growth in international clients. We quickly established a strong track record and high profile in key areas such as separation and divorce. In-house corporate law expertise is a big advantage in family law cases involving division of corporate assets.

Our Family Law department is led by Alan Finnerty, whose expertise and experience covers all areas of family law. He is particularly skilled in negotiating agreements on financial, property and childcare issues in separation and divorce.

Alan has represented clients in judicial separation and divorce proceedings both in the Circuit and High Court. He has extensive experience in dealing with the legal, financial and taxation implications of marital breakdown.

He also advises on the range of issues involving children, cohabitants and civil partners. Other areas of expertise include recognition of foreign divorces, and District Court applications involving access, maintenance and domestic violence.

Alan is a member of the Editorial Board of the Family Lawyer’s Journal and a former chair of the Communications Committee. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Irish Family Lawyers’ Association. He has contributed articles to journals and has spoken on the area of Family Law and Estate Planning.

“Deirdre Burke was my advisor during a very difficult marital breakdown. Deirdre not only provides the best advice but her unique ability to listen and guide me during each step of the process made it easier to manage. Deirdre looks for the best solution for her clients which is very much centred around the children, while at all times looking for an amicable outcome for both parties where possible. I would highly recommend her work to any respective client requiring advice on marital breakdown.”
