GP Claims

Whilst rare, claims against a General Practitioner, as a result of negligence can arise as a consequence of some of the following circumstances:

– Failure to refer a patient to a specialist or
   to an appropriate specialist
– Late diagnoses or failing to diagnose
– Incorrect medicines being prescribed
– Failing to act on test results
– Failing to investigate symptoms

It is often very difficult to consider a claim against your GP, due to loyalty and a long-standing history of care amongst the patient’s family. However when errors occur they can have very serious and
life-long effects on a patient.
